Movement Alchemy is a creative laboratory workshop of physical and mental training for movers and performers. This workshop will engage solo, partnering and group processes through systems of the body/mind in action including visualization, energy training, full dancing and composing. Clear away distractions, unplug from patterns, explore boundaries, engage and dance without thinking while simultaneously perceiving one’s creative mind. Aspects of the Energetic Body will be incorporated based on Sara’s years of study in healing modalities. This workshop is for the delicate in body but strong in heart as well as the delicate in heart but strong in body. It is for those who love to dance and want more.

Director and healer Sara Shelton Mann’s company, Contraband, appeared on stages, in warehouses, abandoned buildings and outdoors from 1979-1996. She has received four Isadora Duncan Awards. She was a John Simon Guggenheim Fellow in Choreography in 2000. She is a recipient of Gerbode Choreographers in Collaboration Award. Her next work, “Tribes,” created with collaborator David Szlasa, is premiering at YBCA, San Francisco in 2010. Sara has many years of study in various spiritual traditions, shamanic practices and healing trainings. She is a Master NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) Practitioner, certified Reconnection Healer™, TheReconnection™ and a dowser. Major influences in her path have been Qi Gong, Hameed Ali, Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, George Conley, Leslie Temple Thurston and Pranic Healing.
