The Walking Distance Dance Festival in Willits, CA
Aug 12-14, 2010

Willits Community Theater, Willits Shakespeare Company, and Willits Art Center, together with
ODC Theater in San Francisco are proud to present The Walking Distance Dance Festival this August 12-14. The festival features performances by three Bay Area-based, internationally acclaimed dance companies: KUNST-STOFF Dance Company, Chris Black and Ken James, and Yaelisa & Caminos Flamencos. The artists will perform over three nights in three different venues in the city of Willits, within walking distance of one another.

Thursday and Friday nights include the same program of KUNST-STOFF at the Willits Center for the Arts and Chris Black & Ken James at the Willits Community Theater. Between the first and second half of the program, patrons can stroll across to The Pub or Purple Thistle, enjoy a drink for Intermission Happy Hour, and head on to the second half of their program. All patrons are welcome to then gather for a post-performance reception at the Willits Center for the Arts to meet the artists and directors of the festival and talk about the shows. On Saturday, the Willits Shakespeare Company presents a stunning Flamenco performance by Yaelisa and Caminos Flamencos under the tent at the outdoor stage, featuring the world-class virtuosity of Jason “El Rubio” McGuire playing live flamenco guitar.
