The ODC School Audition Series brings dancers and choreographers together in a class context. Dancers may use class cards or pay a $14 drop in fee ($1 cash discount). Come early to fill out information forms and bring a resume if you have one.Sunday, January 13, 20131:30pm - 3:30pmPrintz Dance Project (PDP) will hold an open audition for its 2013 season. Dancers will learn repertory for touring as well as participate in the development and performance of a new inter-disciplinary production to premiere late 2013 at Z Space. PDP is looking for male and female dancers with skills in a mix of any of the following styles: contemporary, modern, jazz, hip-hop, plus a strong ability to partner with vibrant, expressive performance quality. Dedicated, hard working, positive people are a must. This will be a paid project. Rehearsals are Wed evenings and Sun afternoons. In addition, dancers must be available for residencies May 9-12, and Oct 7-10. Load in/shows will be Nov 25-27 and Nov 30-Dec 8, 2013.Printz Dance Project performs a repertory of accessible, athletic work that is punctuated by fluidity, sensuality and musicality. PDP has performed in San Francisco for 11 years, and has toured across the nation and internationally in Russia, Lithuania, and Ireland. PDP’s most recent production, Hover Space, premiered to high praise, packed houses and reviewers saying, “With a talented cast, unique concept and inventive movement, Hover Space is a slam dunk.” And “the 'hovering' second stage was brilliant”.Stacey Printz, Artistic Director, is a Bay Area based choreographer, dancer and educator. She received her sociology and dance degrees from UC Irvine. In addition to teaching at Alonzo King’s Lines Dance Center she has been/is on staff at ACT (American Conservatory Theatre MFA program), St. Mary’s College, Sonoma State University and RoCo and has taught classes and workshops for Universities and studios across the U.S. (including classes in New York - NYU, Memphis, Los Angeles - UCLA, Utah, Kentucky, Idaho, Colorado and more). Internationally she has taught in Curacao, Switzerland, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium, Russia, Lithuania, Ireland and Italy. In addition to directing PDP, Printz also collaborates on multi-genre, full evening performing arts pieces including YBCA’s Director of Performing Arts, Marc Bamuthi Joseph’s internationally recognized works, Scourge and The Break/s. She recently choreographed Bamuthi’s latest highly acclaimed piece, “Red, Black & Green: A Blues”, which premiered at YBCA and is currently touring the country.
