ABOUT THE SANDBOX SERIES
The Sandbox Series is designed to support artistic exploration. In Dec 2019, three choreographers were chosen for 8 3-hour sessions over a period of one month purely for the purpose of creative exploration. This project is meant to support imagination and risk; it is not project based and is not intended to replace the traditional pre-production rehearsal process.
Each choreographer will choose up to 6 dancers (with whom they have not worked with before) in one large open audition. For participation in the project, choreographers will be paid $1000, and each dancer will be paid a weekly fee of $90/week. The 24 hours of rehearsal space is paid for by ODC. Choreographers must have 10 years of professional choreographic experience. Dancers must have professional performance experience.
Previous Sandbox choreographers have included Katie Faulkner, Amelia Rudolph, Kim Epifano, Jo Kreiter, Scott Wells, Erika Chong Chuch, Nicole Klaymoon, Gerald Casel, Maurya Kerr, Amy Seiwert, and more!

Session Dates & Rehearsal Schedule 2020
Session 1: February 10 - March 4 (Mondays & Wednesdays)
Session 2: March 11 - 20; April 22 - May 1 (Wednesdays and Fridays) [2 2-week sessions]
Session 3: March 23 - April 15 (Mondays & Wednesdays)
Rehearsal times will be 12:30 - 3:30pm.
Choreographers' Application (Submissions are now closed)
To apply as a choreographer, please write a description of how this program would challenge and inspire you to work differently, and how it would be an artistic stretch for you personally (no longer than one typewrotten page). Do not submit a proposal for a particular piece. Please include a link to video of your work in the last 3 years, no more than 2 works and 5 minutes total length, and a resume with the contact information of a reference.

Dancers are required to pre-register for the audition by January 20, 2020.
Dancers must preregister, and be available for both the audition and the callback dates.
